On January 30, Tristan Lefébure and his team launched the research work on the ALIQUOT project at a kickoff meeting organised at the Institute of Analytical Sciences (Villeurbanne). This 4-year research project (2023-2027) will contribute to three of the six OneWater challenges: Challenge 2 - Water Footprint, Challenge 3 - Water Sentinel, Challenge 4 - Adaptation.
ALIQUOT aims to contribute to the acquisition of fundamental knowledge on the spatio-temporal dynamics of Environmental Nucleic Acids (ENAs) in continental aquatic ecosystems, which are still poorly understood despite considerable recent advances in their use. By making the most of the knowledge generated, ALIQUOT aims to identify solutions that will promote the adaptation and resilience of socio-ecosystems. By identifying these solutions and developing innovative protocols for biomonitoring continental waters, the project also aims to support socio-economic stakeholders in transforming their practices.
Tristan Lefébure, lecturer at the Ecology of Natural and Anthropised Hydrosystems Laboratory, is coordinating the project.
