Launch of the UN 2023 Water Conference: the first United Nations Water Conference for 46 years, and OneWater will be there!
20 March 2023

The first major global conference on water was held in Argentina in 1977. Since then, extreme phenomena linked to global change (droughts, floods, fires, etc.) have become increasingly prevalent. Water is one of the central issues in climate disruption and its viable, equitable and sustainable management is key to adaptation solutions.

At the UN 2023 Water Conference in New York, which opens on World Water Day on 22 March, OneWater is co-hosting a side event – Inclusive Science for Water Security – led by Chile with support from France, Brazil, the Horizon Europe partnership, Water4All, UNESCO-International Hydrological Programme and IHE Delft. The event will be held at the UN headquarters from 15:30 to 16:15 (local time) on 24 March. This side event is one of 200 selected from among 1,300 proposals!
