The first school organized by the national programme OneWater – Eau Bien Commun will take place from 14 to 18 October 2024 in Le Mée-sur-Seine, near Melun.

This week of reflection and exchange around water management challenges and climate change aims to contribute to the scientific challenges addressed by the OneWater programme, through an original multi-stakeholder approach.

OneWater – Eau Bien Commun seeks not only to produce new knowledge to restore water as a common good, but also to address water-related challenges across the French territory and support stakeholders in decision-making processes.

The theme of this first OneWater school will be “Water challenges for living systems (humans, fauna, flora)”.

The school aims to explore the water-related challenges faced by French society and by the various territorial stakeholders responsible for water management, in a context of climate change, increasing pressure on resources, and the need to preserve and restore healthy ecosystems.

Following an exploratory and collaborative approach, the school will offer a collective intelligence experience to address these challenges by drawing on the diversity of disciplinary and sectoral expertise among participants, including researchers, decision-makers, managers, and water experts.

Discussions will be based on case studies, allowing participants to understand the specific water-related challenges associated with different territories.

Registration is open until 4 September 2024 — don’t wait to register!
