Call for Expressions of Interest — Multidisciplinary Scientific Syntheses
As part of its activities, the OneWater – Eau Bien Commun programme is launching a Call for Expressions of Interest aimed at supporting the development of multidisciplinary scientific syntheses on major water-related issues.
This initiative seeks to inform decision-makers, stakeholders, and water managers through consolidated and shared scientific knowledge.
This call will support teams of 5 to 8 researchers from complementary disciplines and research institutions, working alongside a postdoctoral researcher. The work will focus on one of the following four themes:
- Evolution of water storage: natural and artificial, surface and groundwater
- Evolution of surface and groundwater quality (from nutrients to emerging contaminants)
- Dynamics of aquatic biodiversity in France
- Evolution of water management in France and its financing
- Assessment of access to information and water data in France and Europe
The selected projects will aim to produce an multidisciplinary scientific synthesis, intended for submission to a recognized international journal in the field of water. This output will be complemented by a popular science article, as well as outreach activities targeting a broader audience.
The methodology, inspired by synthesis centres, is based on the organisation of two one-week collective sessions dedicated to reflection and writing, preferably hosted at a partner site of the programme.
The duration of the project is 1 year, with a planned start from autumn 2026 to the end of 2027. A maximum budget of €90k may be allocated to cover all costs associated with the project (travel, sessions, postdoctoral recruitment, dissemination).
The project coordinator must be affiliated with a French higher education institution, research organisation, or national research body.
Application deadline: June 15, 2026
