On 15 and 16 January, Véronique Léonardi and her team inaugurated the K3 project at the University of Montpellier (coordinating institution). This 4-year research project (2023-2027) will contribute to five of the six OneWater challenges: Challenge 1 - Anticipation, Challenge 2 - Water Footprint, Challenge 4 - Adaptation, Challenge 5 - Socio-ecological transitions and Challenge 6 - Sharing water related data.

K3 aims to identify the impact of global change on karstic groundwater and surface water resources, in order to identify adaptation solutions for the main users. The project focuses on three main areas: vulnerability, sensitivity and management, and proposes a multidisciplinary approach to advance water management strategies adapted to karstic hydrosystems.

Véronique Léonardi, lecturer affiliated to the Unit Hydrosciences Montpellier, is coordinating the project.
